Currently we are working on developing a series of devices that will clean up the world’s rivers. and ocean gyres of plastic contamination, which is killing fish, other aquatic life such as turtles, along with birds. The plastic is getting into our food chain, since it’s consumed by these creatures, and it eventually winds up on our plates, along with other toxins which accompany the plastic. Market is moving upward

Across the board we’re seeing a rise in non-ferrous pricing, especially in high temps like Tantalum and Tungsten Carbide–the $9.25 to $9.50 price is still one of the best around for scrap inserts and tooling.

Overall, we’re seeing a decline in most base metals, and the general consensus seems to indicate a drop in price for in tungsten carbide in the very near future.

As of June 8, 2010, we’re currently paying $9.00/lb for bulk quantities of Tungsten Carbide, one of the highest prices in the country. If you’re doing any type of machining, you almost certainly use tungsten carbide inserts.

In addition to our normal run of the mill materials, currently we are looking for CP grade Titanium turnings, HS or Stellite alloys, #6 in particular, and F-75. Sometimes I think there are people out there that just want to hear high dollar quotes for their scrap, so anytime someone gets a higher quote than I’m willing to pay, they think I must be cheating them. Truth be told, there are MANY dealers who will over-quote just to steal away a scrap supplier from their competitor, and a “I’m going to cheat them somehow” is built in to the quote. I’m not sure who is the more foolish one(yes I do): the guy who wants to be lied to, or me for telling the truth.
