We can verify as to whether or not you’re getting cheated

If you’re located in the greater New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia region, we can personally show you how to know if you’re actually getting what you’re dealer says he’s giving you (if you’re not it’s also possible, but just a bit more involved). Don’t be fooled by the mobile scale and up-front cash. It’s all designed to give you confidence in scam artists. Right Gary? Right Steve? Right Bill? Scales can have phony counter-weights or be ‘tweaked’, even if they are digital. Certain vendors also don’t have physical yards or warehouses to store their material. I suggest you ask your scrap dealer as to whether or not its allright to pay him a visit, and then if he says it’s OK, do it. If no one seems to be available for such a meeting, it’s almost a certainty that he has no yard or warehouse. Why is that important? Mills and smelters usually accept material by appointment only, and are alloy group specific—in other words, you can’t ship a load of copper, aluminum and stainless to one mill. The items need to be split up and added to a larger quantity of material, usually in the 35-40,000 lb range. So that means that if he picks up a mixed load of those items, he MUST have a physical location to ship and receive or he CANNOT pay you the supposed top dollar he claims that he can pay. Because if he has no REAL location, he must sell his material the day (or next day) to make room on his truck, and that can only be done be selling to another scrap dealer, who must make money for himself. The bottom line is, he can’t pay YOU top dollar, but if he cheats you on weight, he can make it seem as though he is. We don’t play these games; never have, never will. Don’t think your dealer is a ‘nice guy’ and would never do that to you. Again, it’s all part of the scam.
